Old age becomes emotionally and physically hard for the aged when they are left alone. Old age homes give the shades of hope to them with care and shelter. The short film portrays the charity home BETHESDA which is a kind resort for many forlorn and abandoned old parents. In Mayatha Chirikal (Lasting Smiles) an old lady unexpectedly meets her old friend in her visit to a charity home. Curiously she finds her friend is happier than herself in that home.
